Julie Swanson Haggard, Attorney at Law is an experienced collaborative lawyer and mediator, focusing primarily in family and real estate law. Julie serves clients in numerous counties including: Kendall, DeKalb, LaSalle, Kane, DuPage and surrounding areas.

Julie brings together her professional and personal experience in divorce, real estate and other family situations to assist her clients in finding the best solution to their particular needs. A personal law practice, Julie readily shares professional counsel to clients new or interested in learning their options in negotiated settlements and collaborative law.

The practice firmly believes in strengthening the community with hands-on involvement in advocate representation with a strong emphasis on settlement. Julie is a Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois Fellow and member of the Kendall, DeKalb and Kane County Bar Associations and Sandwich Chamber of Commerce. She has extensive mediation and collaborative law experience combined with trial preparation experience allowing Julie to properly assess the necessary approach to each client’s specific situation.

Some situations absolutely necessitate the involvement of the court. Emotionally charged and sensitive disputes can be addressed by settlement negotiations, collaboration, or mediation to determine an amicable resolution. Julie is respectful of the personal perceptions and the inseparable emotions which can surface with unresolved circumstances and works diligently to resolve unsettled circumstances harmoniously. Parties meet to find a common solution through Julie’s expert knowledge of family and real estate law. Litigation is necessary for specific cases.

Julie’s mission involves partnering with the local community with professional practices in mediation, family law, and real estate. In collaboration, Julie partners with financial and mental health experts to assess and determine the best possible solution for the family. The practice provides legal representation and counsel in the areas of collaborative law and mediation, divorce, child custody, child support, parentage disputes, grandparent visitation, prenuptial, postnuptial and cohabitation agreements and real estate closings. Julie is a registered title agent.
